Project Description:

The Internet counts billions of websites. Still, many are not user-friendly. Layout, texts, positioning and colour play an important role in attracting, retaining and converting website visitors. When experiencing problems (e.g. with the interface of the website), visitors will search for an alternative elsewhere, thereby abandoning the website. Probably, they will never return. Improving website usability will not only enhance the user experience, it can raise the conversion rate up to 80% also.

This project’s aim is to develop an evaluation method to use when testing the usability of websites and mobile applications. To perform the evaluations, U-Cert will be established as an independent organisation. Websites or apps rated 70% or higher, will be awarded with the U-Cert certificate label. All clients will receive a report with suggestions for improvement, in order to facilitate the online experience of visitors and to increase conversion. Website owners will be able to contact U-Cert directly to request an audit. Also, we intend to build out a partner network of web related firms.

In the long run, we plan to expand the organization internationally.
